Big Island Bees, like Greenwell Farms, is a fourth-generation, family-owned operation who takes particular care and pride in their products.  Certified organic by the Hawaii Organic Farmers Association, each varietal is created from the nectar bees collect from a single type of rare Big Island flowers.  

Fun facts:  Each 9.5 oz. jar of Big Island Bees Honey is the result of 683 bees flying 32,550 miles to visit 1,185,000 flowers to collect 5.93 lbs. of nectar.

Wilelaiki Blossom is a Hawaiian favorite!  Sometimes called “Christmas berry,” the nectar from these flowers create honey of robust flavor with hints of spice matching its amber color.  We’ve found it to be excellent for tea and coffee. Lehua Honey is the most unique of the three flavors, made from the Big Island’s official flower.  An exceedingly rare honey, prized by connoisseurs for its light color and creamy texture, Lehua Honey is produced from the Lehua flower on the ʻōhiʻa tree, one of the first plants to grow out of fresh lava flows. Macadamia Nut Blossom Honey has an amber hue with a sweet, slightly nutty flavor, which makes it a favorite for pouring on waffles and pancakes.
