Coffee connoisseurs know that 100% Kona Coffee isn’t “just” coffee. And within the Kona Coffee distinction are shades of color, flavor and caffeine content defined by the way Kona Coffee beans are roasted. The longer coffee beans are roasted, they become darker in appearance, larger in size and stronger or sweeter in flavor, but the caffeine content actually decreases. At Greenwell Farms, our 100% Kona Coffees are roasted for a full spectrum, from Medium Roast, to Full City, Dark Roast and Espresso, as well as our new mix, “Chameleon Roast.” When you visit our Kona Coffee farm, you’re welcome to taste them all and find your favorites.

After our coffee trees bloom, they bear fruit called coffee cherries, and usually, each cherry forms two coffee beans.  But in about 5% of the crop, something remarkable happens:  the two beans merge as one.  We call this exceptional single bean a “Peaberry.”  Relatively small but dense, the peaberry has a personality all its own, and creates coffee with a nice acidity and fruity taste that peaberry fans can’t get enough of.

Peaberry makes up a very small percentage of the coffee grown in Kona.  So from time to time, supplies can be limited.
